Once you've made your first diagnostic log, there are two options for replaying and review it. Shorter logs can be viewed directly in the diagnostics app, and you also have access to all your logs via your user dashboard on the Speedweaver web app so you can review them on your bigger laptop/desktop monitor.

To find a list of all your logs on the Speedweaver web app, navigate to Diagnostic Logs which you can find in the sidebar navigation on your User Dashboard.

Exporting to CSV

You can export data from a diagnostic log in CSV format by selecting the log from the list and clicking the Download Log CSV button on the side panel.

Sharing logs for other people to see

You can share data logs by selecting the log from the list and navigating to Sharing Options in the side panel. Here you can toggle sharing on/off. Once you turn sharing on, you'll be presented with a public link that you can click to copy and share anywhere and with anyone you like!

Add a log to a project

You can associate data logs to tuning projects by selecting the log from the list and navigating to Details in the side panel and selecting the project you'd like to associated it to in the Associated Project dropdown. This allows you to quickly find the log from a tuning project in the Projects Page. Once the log is associated, you can find it from the project by selecting the project from the list and navigating to the Associated Logs tab in the side panel. Here you can click on the log you're looking for.

Viewing geo-data

If you chose to record your log with GPS data, it's possible to open the map of the route in both the mobile app and the log viewer web app. To do this, look for the location pin icon in the top right of the screen. When you scrub through the vehicle parameter graph, you will see the associated location on the map.

We're excited to announce that we have now integrated PayPal as a payment method on Speedweaver. This means you can now connect your PayPal account to pay for your subscription or one-off purchases.

We still also support payment by credit / debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Discover cards.

Acceleration Timers let you run multiple acceleration tests at once between varying speed milestones. Currently you can do 0-60mph, 60-100mph and 60-120mph by doing a single run from 0-120mph.

It's quick and easy to get started creating data logs with the Diagnostics App. You can track up to 10 vehicle parameters with high refresh rates on the live dashboard and record them as data logs to review later in our browser log viewer.

Ensure Dongle is Connected to The App

Start a Data Log

From the home screen of the App, navigate to OBD Tools -> New Datalog. You will see a menu for starting the data log where you can set:

• Name - The name by which you'll be able to find your log in the app or in your user dashboard in the browser.
• GPS Tracking - Whether you want to capture GPS data with your logs. This will allow you to see your data points on a map in the log viewer in the app or in the browser.
• Show Live Dashboard - Whether you want to see the Live Dashboard while recording. This allows you to monitor the data as it's being recorded. Please note this may decrease the data sample rate on older devices.
• Dyno Sync - Used to add a trigger parameter to start the log eg: Start the log after 3000RPM

You can choose to do the data log with parameters from a parameter group or choose parameters in this menu, but bear in mind that only parameter groups are saved for you to use in another log. If you don't use parameter groups, you have to specify the parameters you want individually every time you do a log.

After you're happy with your setup, you can tap Create in the top right corner.

You're ready to tap Start Log! When you're finished tap the button again. The logs will now be available for you to view in the app and in the browser viewer which you can access from your User Dashboard.

Parameter groups are simply groups of vehicle parameters such as RPM, Vehicle Speed and MAF. You can configure a group of up to 10 of your favourite parameters to use as a template that defines what parameters are in your logs or on your live dashboard.

What OBD Device Should I Use?

The Speedweaver App currently supports most wifi devices on iOS and most bluetooth/wifi devices on Android. Our team is currently working to support bluetooth devices on iOS.

The best OBD Diagnostic tools we have tested are ScanTool OBDLink, Vgate and Kiwi devices.

Please note that some of the very cheap and generic OBD devices may not have satisfactory performance.

Also note that only bluetooth devices are supported, so if your device is BLE only and doesn't have support for bluetooth classic it won't currently work with the app.

Connecting the OBD Device

First locate the OBD port in your vehicle. It's usually no further than a metre from the steering wheel and is most often found directly underneath in the footwell. If you can't find it, consult the vehicle's manual.

To connect a Bluetooth Device to your smartphone, ensure bluetooth is on and visible, ensure that the dongle is plugged in and the indicator light(s) are on. Pair the device by selecting it from the bluetooth menu in your phone settings. You may be required to enter a pin which can usually be found written on the Dongle or in its instruction manual.

To connect a WiFi Device to your smartphone, ensure wifi is on and ensure that the dongle is plugged in and the indicator light(s) are on. Pair the device by selecting it from the wifi menu in your phone settings. You will likely be required to enter a password to connect to the Dongle's network which can usually be found written on the Dongle or in its instruction manual. Some wifi Dongle / smartphone combinations may require you to switch off mobile data to work.

Once the device is paired to your phone, open the Speedweaver App and navigate to Settings (⚙️ icon in top right) -> OBD Device Settings and choose WiFi or Bluetooth.

For WiFi option the default Host/Port configuration will show which is likely to work with your device - if your device requires a different combination you can change it here. For Bluetooth option you are given the opportunity to pick which paired bluetooth device you'd like the app to try to connect to.

After this, exit the settings back to the main screen making sure to save tap Save Changes when prompted.

You should now be able to click the Connect button and get started with the app!

When you connect, you may be given an option to pick which ECU to connect to from the list of ECUs the app has recognised. Please note that only one ECU can be monitored at one time.
